Characteristics of Adult Dyslexia

Dyslexia is not a problem only experienced by children and teenagers. Dyslexia can be, and often is, a life-long barrier to an individual achieving their potential in the workplace and in their personal life.

An adult dyslexic, with life-long problems relating to reading, writing and/or maths, may find that they get frustrated at themselves and may experience periods of intense anger and/or depression at what they perceive as their own failure to achieve their goals. Increasingly, jobs require the individual to pass exams often involving reading, maths and writing. This can cause anxiety, stress and result in the person failing or avoiding the job completely.

Davis Dyslexia Programmes help people with these characteristics every day. The disabling aspects of Dyslexia are correctable and can be overcome.

Most adult dyslexics will exhibit at least 10 of the following traits or behaviours. These characteristics can vary from day-to-day or minute-to-minute.
