“I am writing this to you with great appreciation for the difference you have made to my son. All throughout his school life he struggled with mathematics,no matter what we tried with him, Kip McGrath, Focus, one-on-one private tuition, maths just did not make any sense or reason to him. School days for him were not happy so his education finished at the end of the 5th form having no qualifications. Reading and writing was not a problem, talking with people was not a problem but when it came to numbers, multiplication, division and fractions etc. they were like a foreign language.
Through a family friend who had sent their daughter to the Dyslexia Workshop we decided to get in touch with Ann Cook to see if there would be any hope of gaining understanding for my son. After doing the programme with Ann it was amazing to see the breakthrough that has developed and finally the understanding of the maths world.
It was so great to see that it wasn't a lifelong problem and by being taught in a different way that he could relate to,different to the majority of the population he could finally grasp the way of mathematics.
A year after the programme my son is working part time in a shop, using a till and dealing with money, something he would never have had the confidence to do before the course.

We were delighted to find that there was an experienced teacher in Warkworth who was able to help our grandson to learn by this alternative teaching method. “Our confident, lively, smart, articulate, humorous 6 year old started to become an unconfident, sad child who was kept in at lunch time. Having dyslexia in family history we recognised the situation and sort Ann's help.
The Early Readers program was an amazing insight into what life is like for our son. It was a privilege to watch Ann expose with such skill and patience what was happening for him.
During the 2 week course his progress was huge. Learning the ‘focus’ and ‘release’ tools and watching them work was outstanding. We completed the course a couple of months ago and have since been doing daily Davis sessions. Some are very short and can feel frustrating and challenging, others are a joy and large leaps are made. Since we did the course, it's not that we are racing down the reading path at a million miles an hour. Actually we have gone back on that path. We have found another path, it's hilly and steep in places, but, it is a clear path, it is not shrouded with thick fog and low branches, scratchy twigs and pot holes, as the other path was. It is a path that our child understands and it belongs to him. He is gaining confidence, he believes he is special again.
The programme has given us (as the parents) the skills and understanding to help our child. We absolutely recommend the program and throughly recommend Ann as the teacher.”
