For the visual learner, understanding and learning maths with traditional teaching methods can cause problems. Often, the words and symbols used to describe maths functions cause confusion and act as a barrier to learning. As with the Davis Dyslexia Correction Programme, the student is given the ability to control and correct their disorientation and then, using Symbol Mastery, works on the symbols and other triggers that cause confusion and disorientation. When the foundation concepts for understanding all mathematics are mastered, learning maths becomes easy.

For clients with other learning problems, it may be recommended that they complete a Davis Dyslexia Correction programme or a Davis Attention Mastery programme, prior to the Davis Maths Mastery Programme. The ideal approach would be fully discussed at the initial consultation.
